Lab Posting in UMMC experience

Assalamualaikum and selamat malam uolls (sebab aku tulis time tengah malam ni), I'm backkk. I'm so excited tonight because I'm gonna share with you guys my experience during lab posting in um medical centre (ummc). We were posting for a month in anatomic pathology division, department of pathology, ummc started from 1st until 26th of July, 2019. Actually, I was assigned in other lab (microbe lab) but I exchanged with my friend and I''m so grateful for that because I heard all my friends in that lab said it was tough since they have tests and presentations at the end of the posting. Lolzz our lab didn't. Soo alhamdulillah~ Thank God so much I got this lab or else I don't think my one month would be this memorable.  Overall, I can say that posting ni memang best not just because of the lab but also because of the people like my friends and the lab staffs we met. Basically, dalam anapatho lab ni, ada 10 orang yang posting together with me; me, izzah, aliya, aini, sofea, izzaty, syaza, wafi, che and px. First day tu kitorng dibahagikan kepada 3 group for lab 1, lab 2 and lab cytology. Two lab ada 3 orang and one lab ada 4 orang. Of course, me always be with aliya and izzah hahaha, kitorang were assigned to lab 1, and the other groups went to lab 2 and lab cytology respectively. Each group only posting in each lab for a week so kitorang rotate. but since kitorang ada 3 group jer untuk 4 minggu so minggu last kitorng masuk lab yang first kitorang masuk tu, (faham x? haha) complicated tol aku ni, yes perempuan itu complicated. Peaceee~

Oke, cakap pasal woman is complicated ni, waktu first week tu, ayat tu lah one of the things yang aku takleh lupa sebab kitorng kena label "complicated" by one of the MLT kt situ hahah sebab kitorng selalu macam berbincang benda2 yang patutnya simple tpi susah benor kitorng duk bincang2 sampai jadi complicated. Tapi kene label ni sekadar gurauan jer lah dun worry. Dia macam ni sebenarnya, bile posting ni kitorng like belajar benda2 pasal lab tu and MLT lah yang akan ajar kitorng. so everytime kitorang belajar benda baru kitorang macam bincang laa itu ini, apa benda yang kita tak faham semua tulah. Kitorang bincang mcm2 padahal patutnya kalau tak faham boleh jer tanya MLT kan tapi kitorang malu nak tanya sebenarnya sampailah MLT tu kata "asik tercuit2 jer ni kenapa, apa yang x faham?" sebab tu yang kena label complicated tu sebab kitorng macam asik bincang2 among us jer and tak tanya MLT tu. Dah la bincang kalau diorng tak dengar takpe ni betul2 tepi diorang lollzzz. okayyy tu pasal benda2 yang mcm tu la kann..hehheh. Now aku nak cite la pasal benda2 yang aku belajar waktu first week lab. Lab 1 ni nama dia lab histopathology. Kat sini, routine tissue processing dijalankan which tissue samples from clinics, operation theatre, and ward akan di-analisis untuk kita tahu penyakit yang patient tu ada. situasi dia mcm ni la, kt ward/clinic/operation theatre tu Dr. akan tulis apa penyakit yang diorang "mungkin" dapat, dr predict based on clinical symptoms patient tu so untuk confirmkan betul penyakit tu yang patient tu ada, kita buat pathology test. Kita check through tissue and cells yang kita dapat from patient tu to confirm the diagnosis of the patient. Fyi, histology is the study of tissue and cytology is the study of cells. So in this anapatho division ada 3 labs as what I mentioned earlier, lab 1 and 2 are histopathology lab while lab 3 is cytopathology lab. So lab 1 ni kita receive tissue specimens and kita process the tissue to produce a one cell thick tissue on a slide to be viewed under microscope, haa yang akan view the tissue on the slides tu will be medical officer or pathologist. Actually, before posting ni pun kitorang dah belajar subjek pathology and histological techniques so what we observed mainly in this lab 1 were the things yang kami dh familiar with. Alhamdulillah, since kitorang ada basic knowledge tu, we were able to understand more in depth the process which kita tengok in real life plus kitorang juga dibenarkan hands-on. So memang for me best sangat since I really like those two subjects. Dia macam menguatkan lagi kefahaman kita berbanding kita belajar teori jer kann.. and then MLT staffs diorang sangat baik and terang kat kami dengan faham sangat, diorang sangat ikhlas do. kitorang tanya sikit jer tpi diorang jawab panjang~, diorang explain betul2 laa. memang bersyukur gila dapat anapatho division ni. Untuk lab 2 and lab cytology, lebih kurang jugak sama jer, tapi beza dia we learnt a lot of new things kat sini, benda2 yang tkde dalam subjek histological techniques, mostly benda2 baru tu kitorang akan belajar waktu semester 5 ni (third year) but overall the workflow keseluruhan lab tu kitorang faham.

Okayy i think that's all about lab posting. So many memories we made and lessons we learnt during that time. hopefully those experiences I obtained can help me plan my future after graduate hehehh. btw guys saje nak share a few songs yang aku dengar lately yang aku sangat 1000x suka.
